Argon Fire Extinguishing Systems –
Reliable even for Metal and Electronic Fires

Argon is electrically non-conductive, non-toxic (more human-compatible than CO2) and residue free. Due to this it is mostly used as an inert shielding gas. It is a noble gas and third-most abundant gas in the Earth´s atmospere. Therefore Argon is widely avilable worldwide and produced industrially by the fractional distillation of liquid air.

WATER EXTINGUISHING SYSTEMS

Water-based fire extinguishing systems make up the largest share of the extinguishing technology – in case of sprinkler systems a simple and reliable technology for decades.

GAS EXTINGUISHING SYSTEMS

The extinguishing effect of inert gases is achieved by displacing the oxygen in the air. Assets are protected by the slow response that is typical of the inert gases CO2, nitrogen and argon.

The extinguishing principle of Argon Fire Extinguishing Systems

The extinguishing effect of the rare and inert gas argon (Ar) is mainly due to the reduction of the oxygen content of the air so that the combustion process cannot continue. The gas passes through the flood area quickly, providing complete room protection. It is much heavier than air and is therefore an ideal chemical for raised floors. Argon is not toxic.

Argon is an inert gas derived from the ambient air. It is 0.93% vol. in the atmosphere. Its density in relation to air is 1.38:1. The extinguishing agent argon is stored compressed in high pressure steel cylinders.
